Trekking to Chimpa Fortress

Description

The fortress of Chimpa is located in the Colca Valley, in the district of Madrigal, about 1 hour from Chivay.

The Chimpa Fortress offers a unique view of the Colca Valley. The place was a military installation strategically located and elaborated in stone by the settlers of the Collagua culture (Pre-Inca).

From the top you will enjoy an incredible view of the canyon with its terraces and walk through the fortress.

This activity takes approximately 6 hours and the trail was designed with rest options in some places in case of need.

Season: April to December.
